How long have you been in business?
The company was started in 2001
What is your primary product or service?
Team Financial Group's main business is in commercial lending, including a specialty in municipal finance. Anything that can be used for business purposes can be financed through Team. We now have branched into offering insurance for personal, business, health and life and also have a full service mortgage company.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The two gentleman that started the company at the time had 26 year and 14 years with Old Kent Bank. They saw an opportunity when the 5/3 Bank merger came about and took advantage of the timing.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
One of the things that people enjoy working with our company is our flexbility. We can customize a deal with step, step down, skip or other payment structures. We also service all our deals and lend our own money so we have a strong vested interest in making sure our customers are taken care of.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently we have one location, there is a possibility we may branch out if our funding goes nationwide but for the time being we handle everything quite well at our current place of business.

Our current address is 3391 Three Mile Rd NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534. The easiest way to find our office is head west on I-96 from 131. Get off at the Fruit Ridge exit, take a left to cross the expressway and that T's into 3 mile rd. Take a left and we are about 3/4 of a mile on the left hand side.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, check, cashier check, money orders, or wires. We also can do direct withdrawl from your account for a one time payment.
Which areas do you service?
Currently we are servicing the entire Midwest with the primary concentration of our customer base in Michigan itself.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Currently there are six owners of company stock with Tim Maczka and Joe Smaby as majority owners.
What are your hours of operation?
Our office is open from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday with the flexibility of meeting anytime as long as it is arranged beforehand.
